Is it hard to get a waitering/bartending job in Manhattan?
I'm a South African student heading to NYC in November for 3 months. I have all the required visas etc lined up, my only last concern is how to get a Job when I get there. What are the odds that I don't manage to get a job in more than 2 weeks of Serious job searching? And what is the average pay i can expect?Thanks

Is there a difference between a bartending licence and a bartending certificate?
i hear ppl talking about both but idk if ppl just get " licence" and " certificate" confused cuz i have a licence in another field and ppl always say certificate. i went to bartending school and got a certificate but the school never mentioned anything about a licence now im wondering if thats why it was cheaper
Is bartending hard to learn/remember?
I'm 52 and looking to possibly become a bartender but my memory is not what it use to be and I'm worried I won't be able to remember all the drinks. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
Looking for a bartending job in Los Angeles?
Can anyone give me some tips on how to land a bartending job in LA? I am finding it really hard toget anything, and I am desperate. I do have some experience as a server and then a bartender while in college, 4 years ago although the place has since closed so I unfortunately can't get a reference . I do some event bartending for a catering company, but scoring an actual job has been really tough. I drop resumes anywhere I possibly can, dress professionally, and follow up about a week later. I feel like I'm doing everything right But obviously not. Any advice?
What would be a ball park price to offer for 3 hours of waitress/light bartending?
I was offerd a job, for waitress light bartending for this fantasy football draft... Its 3 hours and the guy wanted me to give him a ballpark price, Im not quit sure what to offer. So what do u think?? A Ballpark Price would be?? for 3 hours. And he mentioned topless...?? Not saying id do it, but how much more would u say if topless??remember for 3 hours of waiting on ppl and light bar tending for about 15 ppl.
What would be a good name for a start-up Private Party Bartending business?
I currently do private party event bartending as a sort of hobby or side job, and I am looking to take it to the next level and actually create a revenue stream. I have developed a website and outlined a business plan going forward, but I am stuck on coming up with a name My first inclination was to include 'Top Shelf' in it e.g. Top Shelf Entertainment, which is already taken , but I hit a wall in coming up with something a little more personalized.My biggest caution is that I don't want to limit the growth of this opportunity by the name, so I don't really want to have a name like 'AJ's Bartending' or anything quite so narrow. Through partnerships I will also be offering services such as cocktail waitresses and professional DJ's.
Bartending as a second job?
I'm gonna be 18 in November and I was considering doing bartending as a second job. I know I wont make a living off of it but my current job isn't cutting it and I need to save for school, car, etc. So if anyone has any input about bartending, please help.I was wondering about how much you make and if bartending school is worth it.
